ImmanuelAmex’s free supplementary cards for friends and family is one of the most powerful ways to increase your points balance and maximise Amex offers (by enrolling each card).
Right now and until November 30, 2018; when you add a supplementary card to your account and spend $750 on the supplementary card, you will receive 3000 bonus points (in the currency your card is in).
This promotion is only available when you ring the number on the back of your card and points won’t be credited if you apply for a supplementary card online. This is slightly contradicting since Amex also send out an email to selected members which may imply the promo is also available for online applications. To be safe however, I would recommend calling up.
I’ve spoken to the Amex call center today and can confirm all Amex account are eligible for this promotion!
Your application needs to be submitted and approved by by 30/11/2018. Supplementary cardholders have their own account separate to yours, but as the primary cardholder, you can manage their spending. There is no credit application check for adding a supplementary card holder and all points earned by the supplementary card will be pooled into your account. Just keep in mind you will be responsible for any purchases made by the sup card member!
Can I add multiple cards?
Yes and no. In order to get the bonus points multiple times, you will need to have multiple primary cards. For example, if you hold and Amex Platinum Edge and and Explorer; you can add a supplementary card member to each card and get a total of 6000 points (3000 for each). The promotion is limited to 1 bonus per type of card you hold.
