Good news for all the Qantas Status addicts out there, from tomorrow you will be able to register for a new Qantas Double Status Credit promotion!

It appears the Qantas marketing team lifted the lid on the promotion by accidentally emailing some members about the upcoming double status promo. The link in the email now displays a test page, but we assume that this will go live from tomorrow.

Why should I care?

Qantas double status credits allow you to reach a specific loyalty tier twice as fast as you usually would. For those chasing gold or platinum status with Qantas, this is a great way to get there faster and cheaper. Savvy frequent flyers will often book “status runs” to maximise these promotions at the most economical cost possible and by flying routes that give them the highest amounts of status credits.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1.  Be patient and wait until August 9
  2. Register through this link: https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/memberSpecials/double-status-credits-open-aug18
  3. Book your Qantas operated flights between August 9-14
  4. Travel between August 21, 2018, to August 8, 2019

What are the t&c’s of this offer?

These were the leaked t&c’s, however since the promotion isn’t live yet, some details might change before tomorrow:

In accordance with Commonwealth policy, this offer is not available to you if you are travelling for Commonwealth purposes.

* This offer is valid when you register and make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEST) 9 August 2018 and 11.59pm (AEST) 14 August 2018 and travel between 21 August 2018 and 8 August 2019.

An eligible flight for the purpose of this promotion means any Domestic or International Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on your ticket where Status Credits are typically earned.

For full details, see terms and conditions. Status Credits will not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including Classic Flight Rewards.

Flight gift vouchers purchased but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will not earn double Qantas Points.

Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus or Platinum One Bonus Reward earn requirements.

Each passenger can book multiple new bookings and be eligible for the offer. Status Credits may take up to six weeks after completion of travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Flights are subject to availability and any applicable fare conditions. Flights can be booked via the Qantas website, a travel agent or Qantas Contact Centres. Fees may apply.

Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn Status Credits. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer by Qantas. Only one Double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary.

If you qualify for multiple bonus offers, the offer first registered for will be applied to each individual qualifying segment.

Full or part travel of an itinerary is eligible only if you book and travel within the promotional dates as listed above.

If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply.

What Flights Can I Book For Double Status Credits?

It’s important to understand that only Qantas flights on a Qantas Aircraft marked with QF are eligible. This means you won’t get double status credits for code-share flights or certain Emirates flights with a QF number. Essentially, if there isn’t a kangaroo on the tail, you probably won’t get double points.

I registered for my husband and I double status credits and then booked our flights. I just realised qantas never sent me an email confirming that I registered the double status credits even though it says thank you you have registered for the double status credits
