When a hotel chain claims a sale of up to 40%…I'm naturally sceptical. However, Accor Plus just launched a members-only sale, and after sampling a few different hotels around the world, I can confirm it's the real deal!

Accor Plus Members Sale 40% Off Hotels 1

What's the deal?

  • You will need to book for stays between July 12 and September 1st, 2019.
  • On top of the discount, you will also get free breakfast included.

If you're not an Accor Plus member, you will receive up to 30% discount + free breakfast. This rate is available for Accor Le Club members (free to join).

Does it stack up?

Whenever there's a sale like this, you need to do a little bit of comparing before booking anything. I always compare any hotel chain direct pricing with hotels.com. Keep in mind that for a sale like this it won't be possible to price match through hotels.com since it's exclusive to Accor Plus members.

Also note that the 40% discount is based on the flexible, unrestricted rate of the room, so it won't work out to exactly 40% (unless you're booking the flexible unrestricted room rate), but the saving should be significant nonetheless.

I had a look at the following 3 hotels:

Sofitel Singapore City Centre

I've stayed at this hotel, and it's a fantastic property, not only is it relatively new, the rooms are amazing (so is the pool and the club lounge) and if you want to work out on the go, you get access to free group classes at the Virgin Active gym which is next door.

  • Hotels.com price: Au$425 (Breakfast not included)
  • Accor Plus Price: Au$303.57 (breakfast included)
  • Saving: $121.43 (+ whatever you value breakfast at)

Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg

Accor Plus Members Sale 40% Off Hotels 3

Paris is notoriously expensive when it comes to luxury hotels so when there's a saving to be had, I'm all ears. For this example, I looked at the Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg which is a property I've wanted to try out for a while.

  • Hotels.com price: AU$729 (Breakfast not included)
  • Accor Plus price: AU$563.92 (Breakfast included)
  • Saving: $165.08 (+ whatever you value breakfast at)

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour

Lastly, I looked at one of the hotels I recently stayed at (check out the Sofitel Darling Harbour review here). It's one of my new favourites in Sydney and boasts a club lounge worth paying for.

  • Hotels.com price: Au$296 (Breakfast not included)
  • Accor Plus price: $197.40 (Breakfast included)
  • Saving: $98.6 (+ whatever you value breakfast at)

Conclusion

There are some genuine deals to be had during this sale and it's a great value add-on to the Accor Plus membership. If you're not already a member, check out my guide on Accor plus here and learn why I rate it (in short it's worth the price).

If you do want to take advantage of this sale, your Accor Plus membership activation takes between 2 to 5 working days when you sign up online which means you would want to sign up sooner than later in order to book before May 24th cut off date.

You can see all the participating hotel here and check the full T&C's here.
