Who doesn’t love a discount? Especially on flights!
Well, Etihad is running a promotion for its partner; the Sydney Opera House. Until October 12, you can take advantage of 10 to 15% off your flights if you’re departing from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Etihad Airways is offering a 15% discount to first and business class (check out my Etihad first class review here and Etihad business class here) bookings and 10% discount on full fare economy tickets. Keep in mind the discount only applies to the base fare and not to the taxes (which do make up a huge chunk of tickets).

What are the restrictions?

You will need to book by 12 October for travel from 1 October 2018 until 31 August 2019. Blackout dates are between:

  • 15-23 December 2018
  • 5 June – 5 July 2019
  • 15 August – 15 September 2019

And for inbound travel between:

  • 1-20 October 2018
  • 2-15 January 2019
  • 1 July – 1 August 2019

Also, note that the offer is only valid on one-way and return trip fares and does not apply to multicity destinations/stopover bookings.

Which fare types can you book?

The offer is valid for all Economy Deals, Economy Saver, Economy Classic, Economy Flex, Business Saver, Business Classic, Business Flex, and excludes infant fares.

How to tell if you got a discount?

When you enter the coupon code and run the search, all discounted flights will be marked with a yellow star so you can easily distinguish discounted fare from full fares. Of course; don’t take Etihad’s word for it and always do your own research on other aggregator sites. My favourite for discounted flights is Momondo, just be wary that booking with third-party providers can be a painful experience if you make a booking mistake or need to change details later on (they usually charge hefty fees).
